Westnet Freezone

What's New?

John Butler Trio

From the 20th March, we'll be featuring John Butler Trio in the Freezone!

Xbox LIVE

Warning: Westnet Freezone content is offered unmetered to Westnet internet plan customers with the exclusion of:
  • All Dialup, Satellite, Mobile Broadband and Seacrest plans
  • Broadband1 Starter Plan Option 1
  • Broadband2+ Pro Plan Option 1 (on the ULL network)
Please read our Terms and Conditions and Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

In partnership with Xbox LIVE, Westnet is now offering all unmetered Xbox LIVE on Westnet Freezone for Westnet Broadband plans. Enter the ultimate social entertainment experience as you create your own avatar, download game demos, trailers, arcade games and console updates without it affecting your monthly quota (excludes Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and Zune video).

When it comes to gaming of the international sense, we’re working really hard to include as much Xbox LIVE gaming traffic as possible in the Westnet Freezone. As Xbox LIVE allows you to compete with players all over the world, this country-hopping traffic is difficult to capture and unmeter, so think of any quota-free international gaming as a double bonus to the game updates and demos which will make up the bulk of Xbox LIVE traffic (and these are definitely in the Westnet Freezone!).

Important

The above Freezone content is offered unmetered to Westnet internet plan customers with the exclusion of:

  • All Dialup, Satellite, Mobile Broadband and Seacrest plans
  • Broadband1 Starter Plan Option 1
  • Broadband2+ Pro Plan Option 1 (on the ULL network)

Be careful about clicking links or ads on Freezone sites as they may take you away from the Freezone where the data is counted towards your monthly download quota.

Monitor the URL (web address) of the unmetered site that you are visiting. If the URL changes you may be using your broadband quota.

Please be aware that if you alter the DNS settings in your computer, Freezone content may become metered. Please use the automatic settings assigned by our servers.

Whilst the actual download of data is not counted, some sites and content may require you to pay for the item you are downloading. The item download is not counted in your quota.

Westnet will take best & reasonable efforts to ensure Freezone traffic is unmetered. However routing, outages and other factors outside of Westnet's direct control may contribute to some data not being included as Freezone traffic.
