All hands are back on deck after the Easter break!

I managed to limit my chocolate intake over the break (just a few cheeky nibbles here and there) but around the country it was reported Australians spent a whopping $166 million on chocolate and other confectionary this Easter - a dentist's dream!

As a cool change follows the end of summer, this month we take a look at the nasty computer viruses passed around all year long and the steps you can take to keep your computer healthy. We've also received a Starlight update from a recent trip to Bunbury, south of Perth, as Captain Starlight continues to bring much-needed joy to sick children across Australia.

April's Newsletter features all the results from the Australian Broadband Survey for 2009, information on how you can create your very own spiffy-looking website from scratch, plus a great movie giveaway.

Speaking of giveaways, congratulations to Thomas Baines of Albany, the proud new owner of an LG 50" Frameless Plasma TV as winner of Westnet's Customer Satisfaction Survey - Thomas was "stoked" with his prize! Thanks to everyone who took part in the survey.

Just finally, a little bit of housekeeping. Westnet Members on the ball would have picked up on a recent change to the MyWestnet service, namely the removal of the MyEmail page from the online Member area. This change won't affect your email experience in any way other than directing you straight to your inbox from now on.

That's it for this month; dive right in and enjoy this month's Westnet Newsletter!

Internet Jargon

A Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM, often pronounced dee-slam) allows telephone lines to make faster connections to the Internet. It is a network device, located in the telephone exchanges of the service providers, that connects multiple customer Digital Subscriber Lines (DSLs) to a high-speed Internet backbone line using multiplexing techniques. Avatar (2009)Red Cliff
Starring: Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro
Director: John Woo

This depiction of the titular battle that took place in AD 208, credited with changing the entire face of China, is an epic and magnificent piece of entertainment. The principal characters include Cao Cao (Zhang Fengyi), a power-hungry general and self-appointed prime minister who convinces the weak-willed emperor that two rebellious leaders in the south, Liu Bei (You Yong) and Sun Quan (Chang Chen), must be stopped; Cao Cao's antagonists also include the brilliant strategist Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and the heroic warrior Zhou Yu (Tony Leung), whose wife (Chiling Lin) is a legendary beauty. Cao Cao has a huge advantage in manpower, not to mention an impressive fleet of warships. But he is arrogant, while his opponents are not merely humble and brave but clever All of this is depicted in the most spectacular battles scenes since the Lord of the Rings trilogy, with a steady supply of gorgeous shots and indelible images. --Sam Graham

Perfect on Paper: The (Mis)Adventures of Wavery BrysonHandle with Care
By Jodi Picoult

Perennial bestseller Picoult (Change of Heart) delivers another engrossing family drama, spiced with her trademark blend of medicine, law and love. Charlotte and Sean O'Keefe's daughter, Willow, was born with brittle bone disease, a condition that requires Charlotte to act as full-time caregiver and has strained their emotional and financial limits. Willow's teenaged half-sister, Amelia, suffers as well, overshadowed by Willow's needs and lost in her own adolescent turmoil. When Charlotte decides to sue for wrongful birth in order to obtain a settlement to ensure Willow's future, the already strained family begins to implode. Not only is the defendant Charlotte's longtime friend, but the case requires Charlotte and Sean to claim that had they known of Willow's condition, they would have terminated the pregnancy, a statement that strikes at the core of their faith and family.
